15th January
Something beginning with S, T or U brought a few
surprises.
19th February
The Annual Members' Auction was ably conducted by
Richard, Tony and John.

There were only three entries in the 9-sheet club
competition. John had a thematic display of the
S.S. Great Britain, Rory put up a traditional
display of Thailand and John showed some rare
postal history of Maidenhead.
19th March
Rob May, FRPSL gave us a display of Cameroons
from 1914 to the 1960s.

The German colony of Kamerun was taken over
during World War 1 by the French and British,
partitioned and the British mandated part used the
stamps of Nigeria. Eventually in the 1960s the
border was sorted, some parts were assimilated
into Nigeria following a plebiscite, and the
larger part became the independent state of
Cameroun.
1st April
Richard visited the Pinner society and gave a
display of Thematics.

16th April
Members brought along any material they had from
the Pacific Ocean.
21st May
Jack Zhang, FRPSL, brought his superb collection
of Early GB mail. There were many free frankings,
multiple covers with Penny Blacks (including a
first day usage), Mulreadys and material related
to Rowland Hill.

16th April
Members brought along any material they had from
the Pacific Ocean.
26th July
John Spencer, our Secretary, was indisposed so
the AGM was postponed to the September meeting.
Instead we had two impromptu displays by our
own members. First was John Powell with King
George V plates from the Gold Coast, the key plate
being a common design used by many countries of
the British Empire. This was followed by John
Hossack with the subject of transporting the mail
by train.
