Tim Harrison was our speaker this evening
displaying both Estonia and The Union of South
Africa. Two countries with a chequered history of
wars and peace, Poverty and wealth. Described and
illustrated with a skill that reflects his long
association with the subjects.

Estonia illustrated mainly with a some rare and
unique postal history in the first half and a
range of early material in the form of postage
stamps including the famous Cape of good hope
Triangles.
Wednesday 15th June 2022
The vice president of the Royal philatelic
society, Simon Richards. Treated us to a 150 sheet
display of early mail from the Caribbean which
included from the start a very rare cover from
Nevis dated 1663. This was a time of pirates and
privateers and such names as Nelson and Napoleon
were mentioned in connection with the islands and
the history that made Simons display so
interesting.

Our last meeting of the season will be on the 20th
July and a new programme is being compiled and
will be available on the night.
Our speaker next month will be Michael Pitt payne
